What happens on social media stays on the web’ says Ronn Torossian

Social media is the one tool which has literally revolutionized the PR industry, and has taken it to a level, which could not have been imagined a generation ago. While it is an excellent and amazing tool for doing unlimited publicity, it should be used with extreme care and caution.

Ronn Torossian, the founder of 5WPR, a New York based Public Relations firm says that on the flip side, the social media network can get you caught red handed. So, always remember that the moment you have posted something on the web, it is going to stay there.

Of course you may delete it right away, once you realize that the post was not really the best idea you could have shared. But, deleting it does not guarantee that your mistake has been erased completely, and chances are that people have already gone through it and shared that post.

So do not assume that you will always get away with it. There may have been a few times when you actually got away with it; but getting caught even a single time, will make all the previous narrow escapes futile.

Some really helpful tips by Ronn Torossian!

The word ‘platform’ is the latest buzzword especially in terms of public relation campaigning. No matter what you want to promote, you would be asked to build a platform. Also doing this used to be a lot easier earlier when all you had to do is just borrow the steam from an already established entity.

But now those platforms have become mobile, so what would you do? That question needs to be solved. Ronn Torossian, the PR guru suggests becoming a resource. It is a good way to build that platform and meet newer prospects. Answer questions by reaching out there and engage public into conversations.

When most of the people hear this word they only think about displaying appealing content or publishing good material followed by a long pause. But that is just one step and it requires going an extra mile. Creating content that readers could relate to, something to draw the public towards you and your content. Build connection while building credibility and the platform will definitely grow.
